Norit

At the time of our investment (2000) Norit operated as an industrial holding company engaged in three key business activities. Norit was one of the world’s foremost producers and suppliers of activated carbon. The company was also engaged in process technology, providing purification equipment and engineering services to industries such as food and beverage, water, and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, Norit was active in the personal care sector, serving as a developer and manufacturer of private label cosmetics and personal care products.

VE Partners led the initiation and development of a comprehensive de-listing scenario for Norit. Subsequently, VE Partners collaborated with Norit’s top management to refine the plan through joint cooperation, securing crucial buy-in.

Together with Norit’s management team, VE Partners took on the substantial responsibility of restructuring and business planning for Norit’s Activated Carbon division. Furthermore, VE Partners undertook the strategic task of preparing and facilitating the disposal of the non-core Personal Care Division as well as the execution of a buy-and-build strategy for the process technology division.
